Villa Via Bolgherese, surrounded by gorgeous tuscan hills, is the perfect starting point to discover inspiring locations and for numerous open air activities.
The Macchia della Magona is perfectly suited for nature tourism and sports: it offers sixteen trails, 50 kilometers in all, which can be enjoyed while walking, horse riding or on a mountain bike, in a tipical tuscan landscape that is inhabited by a thick and lush vegetation. This marvellous green area can easily be accessed from the villa, on foot or by bicycle.
This area is great for charming and impressive horse treks, all year round. Don´t miss out on excursions to the Pineta of Donoratico and along the coast.
History and culture
Villa Via Bolgherese has several archeological sites nearby. Here it seems like time has stopped at the etruscan era or you can dream of being at the court of some nobleman.
The park includes large parts of the ancient city of Populonia, the only known etruscan coastal settlement. There are archeological and naturalistic itineraries, that tell the story of this place from the etruscan to the roman ages.
The counts of the Gherardesca family used to rule over this land, they built the castles of Castagneto Carducci and Bolgheri, two impressive defensive fortresses, at the time they had the purpose of defending the coastline from the threat of saracen attacks.

Activities for children
The area offers so many activities for our little guests, only a short distance away.
The Parco Gallorose features exotic species and farm animals. It used to be a farm and recently it has become a wildlife park. It features some 180 species, both wild and domestic, from all over the world.
The Parco Avventura Il Giardino Sospeso is a treetop adventure park, it´s a fun place for adults and children. It is located in a protected forest, with 600 hectares of tall oak and cedar trees. The park is also a center for environmental education. There are adventures in dizzy heights for visitors of all ages.
The Cavallino Matto amusement park features more than 30 attractions, including some aquatic ones, for all tastes and ages. Roller coasters, loopings, mini helicopters and much more, for a day full of fun and excitement. There are several bars, a picnic area and a mini golf course.
Hundreds of meters of slides, exciting rafting, thrilling kamikaze slides, thirty thousand square meters of swimming pools, water games and whirlpools. These are some of the attractions of the Acqua Village of Cecina. Nominated for best italian water park in 2018.
